Moto India has quietly started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. The popular mid-range smartphones are surprisingly receiving Nougat update without any official announcement. The chat was clearly showing that this isn’t a soak test, so every Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus owner in India should receive the update within a couple of weeks.
The major OTA update brings November 1 Android Security Patch alongside the NPJ25.93-11 Nougat build. As you can expect, the update brings a standard set of Nougat goodies such as Split-screen Multitasking, improved notification center, Direct Reply, Data saver, Doze on-the-go and much more.
Surprisingly, Motorola India website still showing the “Pending Partner Support.” It may be changed within no time as the wider roll-out will take place in the coming days. Check for update on your Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus by heading over to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates.
Moreover, Android 7.1 Nougat update has already been starting to roll out to some devices. Andro Guider even explained in its report that “the 240.6MB update brings stability & bug fixes and it also consists of the December security patch.”
Though Mobi-picker revealed that Lenovo-owned company will provide a scheduled update for Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Moto X Style, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z Play Droid, Moto Z Play and Nexus 6, still the company has not notified on what particular day on December will the Android 7.0 Nougat update be expected.
